Porch Light Media
Building a foundational brand system, marketing assets, and web presence for a media, strategy, and storytelling startup.
The Challenge
To develop a bold brand identity that reflected the team’s sophisticated approach to media strategy and storytelling; to visually reference brand-related lighting concepts without leaning too literal or “folksy;” to create a vibrant brand palette that could stand out in a saturated creative market; and to build out a streamlined website that would engage and convert prospective clients.
My solution
A modern stacked logo that uses bold letters and minimal shapes to evoke a spotlight, highlighting the media company's illumination of untold stories. A vibrant color palette and a sophisticated typographic system accompany the logo, giving the brand punch and flavor. Final deliverables included logo files, a comprehensive brand guideline, an initial pitch deck, and a scalable website designed to showcase the company's style and success while maintaining visual consistency across visual, digital, and motion platforms.
Porch Light Media is a new, full-service creative production company founded by award-winning filmmakers and strategists who have produced content for brands and campaigns including Google, Netflix, L’Oréal, and the Biden–Harris team, among others.
They enlisted my help to build out its visual identity and initial client-facing materials. I collaborated with the founding team to develop a brand that balanced bold creativity with industry credibility by rapidly prototyping three visual directions to shape early conversations before refining a unified system of type, color, and logo elements that met their unique needs.
